The Challenge

This Italian brand specializes in UV-protective eyewear, featuring UV400 technology (100% UVA/UVB protection). While their products are beautifully designed, the packaging has long presented two major challenges:

1. Excessive shipping volume

The client sought a packaging solution that would reduce shipping volume and prevent the loss of lens cloths, while still maintaining the premium unboxing experience associated with the eyewear brand.

Our Tailored Solution

After extensive discussions with the client’s team, we finalized an optimized folding packaging solution featuring three key customizations:

1. Development of a high-precision paper structure – folding cartons that can be flattened for transport

We abandoned traditional rigid eyewear cases in favor of custom-sized rectangular folding cartons.

When unfolded, the carton lies flat as a single sheet of paper, allowing for stackable, flat-packed shipping that reduces sea freight volume by 60% compared to traditional boxes.

For the client’s custom gradient UV print design, we employed high-precision offset printing combined with water-based varnish and a protective laminate to ensure precise registration and vibrant colors. Through repeated prototyping, we ensured the paper would not fray, pill, or tear after multiple folds.

2. Sewing – 2-in-1 Eyeglass Pouch (Pouch + Cloth Integrated)

A microfiber eyeglass cloth is directly sewn onto one side of the pouch, forming a seamless unit with the pouch body. (Some clients have printed local maps and marked their store addresses.)

High-stretch microfiber fabric is selected, with edges heat-sealed to prevent fraying.

A double-needle blind-stitch machine and custom positioning guides are used to ensure the stitching remains secure when the drawstring is tightened.

After removing their glasses, consumers can instantly clean the lenses with the cloth attached to the pouch, eliminating the risk of losing it.

3. Direct Shipping via Global Supply Chain

We handle the production of folding boxes and the sewing of eyewear pouches at our domestic factories. Clients send other accessories and eyewear to our warehouse, where our QC team conducts quality inspections. After the finished products pass inspection, we assemble them according to client specifications and ship them directly by sea to designated distributor warehouses in the U.S., Germany, and Spain—eliminating the need for brands to handle sorting and transshipment themselves.
